Mon domaine d'activité de recherche concerne le rôle de la "boîte benthique" dans le cycle du carbone : aspects biogéochimiques des processus de transfert à l'interface eau-sédiment.

Mes recherches ont pour cadre deux types de milieux caractérisant les marges continentales :

- milieu côtier : lagunes, plateau continental et zones prodeltaïques au droit des fleuves

- milieu profond : la pente continentale incisée de canyons, zones de fluides froids sur volcan de boue.

L'étude de la matière organique (C, N, lipides, carbohydrates, acides aminés, matières humiques,(isotopes stables et BIT index en collaboration) comprend 2 thèmes

• Enregistrement des flux organiques dans le sédiment superficiel

• Relation entre la matière organique et la vie benthique

• Bilan du carbone : minéralisation versus enfouissement

• Simulation des échanges biogéochimiques à l'interface eau sédiment

• Calcul des taux de dégradation du carbone organique dans les dépôts

• Modélisation de la diagenèse précoce de la matière organique
