CEntre de Formation et de Recherche sur les Environnements Méditerranéens
CEFREM's activities deal with the topic of transfer of matter and energy at the interface of the coastal system, which includes physical exchanges of water masses, particles and elements, particularly carbon. All this activity takes place within the framework of international, national and regional programs. Created in 1963 around a core of geologists and sedimentologists, the laboratory has gradually evolved to multidisciplinarity. This development started in 1997 with the establishment of a training and research center on the marine environment (CEFREM) located in new dedicated building. The current team, although modest, is multidisciplinary and includes sedimentologists, geochemists, biologists and physicists. The CEFREM provides the following undergraduate geology and biology curses: the Licence Sciences de la Terre et de l'Environnement (STE) and the Master Géosciences Marines et Environnements aquatiques (GMEA) on geology and theLicence Biologie Ecologieand the Master Biologie Intégrée : Molécules Populations et Developpement Durable (BIMoPoDD)in biology. On the other hand the CEFREM has graduate students that belong to the Graduate School “Environmental Science and Engineering” of the University of Perpignan. |
